Duluth schools superintendent works without license
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- State records show Duluth school district Superintendent I.V. Foster has been working in Minnesota without a license required for his job.
The Duluth News Tribune reports he was placed on paid administrative leave on Monday by the Duluth School Board.
The board has also begun an investigation into allegations against him, but board members declined to comment to the newspaper on whether the two items were related. Foster didn't return calls.
Foster was chosen by the school board from three finalists April 30 and began working for the district July 1. The requirement to obtain a Minnesota superintendent's license is the second item in Foster's contract.
The investigation is being conducted by the Minneapolis law firm of Ratwik, Roszak and Maloney, which represents the district.
