Give to the Max day has become essential to non-profits, group says
by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — The group Give MN has released final fundraising numbers for Give to the Max day earlier this week. Over 47,000 donors gave more than $13.4 million.
Nearly 4,000 non-profits benefited from the coordinated one-day giving, and none more than Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners. The organization — which provides housing and food assistance to western suburbs in Hennepin County — raised around $319,000, the most of any charity or non-profit in the state.
LaDonna Hoy, the executive director of the Plymouth-based organization, told MPR's Tom Crann that money raised from the one-day event has become essential.
