St. Paul, Minn. — Corey Dargel is a composer, singer-songwriter and vocalist based in Brooklyn, and he's in town for two performances at the SPCO Center (co-presented with the Walker Art Center and in association with Kate Nordstrum Projects).

Dargel is a wonderfully difficult artist to define. His output combines elements of traditional art songs, eclectic pop songs and subject matter that ranges from hypochondria to voluntary amputation.

You can get to know Dargel's style and subject matter through his cycles Every Day is the Same Day and Last Words from Texas. Listen to him perform "Your Discompassionate Arms" with violinist Todd Reynolds.
