Indian Gaming Association neutral on plan to fund Vikings stadium with electronic pull tabsby Cathy Wurzer, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — The option of raising local sales taxes to pay for a Vikings stadium appears to be off the table. Governor Dayton says there isn't enough legislative support to exempt Ramsey County or Minneapolis from holding a referendum on increasing a local sales tax. That leaves few alternatives to help pay for a new stadium. One remaining option is to expand gaming. That plan could include a downtown casino on Block E or electronic pulltabs. But those ideas don't sit well with Minnesota's Indian Gaming Association. Executive Director John McCarthy discusses his group's position with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer.
