Minn.-based Regis hints at coming layoffs
by Annie Baxter, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — Edina-based Regis, the world's biggest hair salon operator, is signaling layoffs may be in the offing.
The company says it will cut administrative expenses as part of a cost-cutting effort that has roughly doubled in scope with a goal of reducing expenses by as much as $50 million.
Regis also named Randy Pearce, the company's current president and a long-time insider, to the top job, replacing Paul Finkelstein who is stepping down.
