Are Politics Crashing the Economy?

President Obama's latest plan to tackle the deficit returns to the theme of taxing the rich. Republicans continue to target budget cuts. As unemployment is stuck around 9 percent, could it be that politics, and not financial conditions, are to blame for the country's sustained economic problems? Does either side have the "political will" to force a solution?
