St. Paul, Minn. — The Jayhawks have been a staple of the alt-country scene since their debut 25 years ago, right up until they went on hiatus in the mid-'00s. Given their widespread acclaim and long-standing legacy, it's sometimes hard to remember that their influential career began and continues right here in the Twin Cities.
The band returned last year with a spate of reunion shows continuing into this past winter, and today a week before they release their first full-length in nearly eight years, Mockingbird Time they joined 89.3 The Current for an invite-only performance at the historic Fitzgerald Theater.
More audio and video will be posted in the coming days.
