St. Paul, Minn. — Nobody can stay on the radio forever. Not even Gary Eichten.

Hall of Fame broadcaster Gary Eichten wrapped up his Midday program Monday by announcing his retirement in January of next year. Following that, Eichten was met in the newsroom by a standing ovation from his colleagues from all over American Public Media.
