Regional Spotlight: Elisso Virsaladze and Chopin
August 11, 2011
St. Paul, Minn. —
The greater the pianist the larger the palate of colors and characters at her disposal.
In the Regional Spotlight Thursday afternoon Steve Staruch revists a Chopin Society recital given this past April at Sundin Hall at Hamline University.
Elisso Virsaladze performs the Chopin Polonaise-Fantasie, at times making the instrument sound like a harp, then like a little girl singing and then.....well, you get the idea. A most colorful and characterful Chopin performance is in this week's Regional Spotlight at Classical MPR.
Regional Spotlight airs Thursday at 3 p.m. on Classical MPR stations and web stream.
