2 US hikers face Iranian court date on spy charges
Minneapolis — The families of two Americans imprisoned in Iran are counting on a hearing Sunday to end their ordeal.
Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal are due for what Iranian authorities have said will be a final hearing in their espionage case. It comes two years to the day after they were arrested with another American while hiking along the Iraq-Iran border. Sarah Shourd was freed last September.
Bauer's mother, Cindy Hickey of Pine City, Minn., says she'll be up all night praying.
The families are taking recent comments by Tehran's top prosecutor as a good sign. He said officials hoped a final decision would be made at the hearing, but did not hint at the outcome.
The families are organizing a rally Friday outside Iran's United Nations mission in New York.
