Minneapolis police squad car shooter still at large

St. Paul, Minn. — Minneapolis police say they're still looking for whoever opened fire on two of their officers while they were sitting in their squad car Monday night.

The officers had stopped a suspicious vehicle around 11:30 p.m. near a north side liquor store when someone fired several rounds at them. The officers were not hit, but their vehicle was.

Minneapolis police say the two officers were not in a position to return fire.

Police stopped a vehicle that matched the description of one from the scene. But contrary to some news reports, a police spokesman says no one has been arrested.
