Northstar rail service still down after train derailmentby Tim Nelson, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — Metro Transit officials replaced Northstar trains with buses Tuesday morning, and there will be no service for the evening Twins game.
The transit agency had hoped to get the Twin Cities commuter rail line running again today after a weekend derailment by a freight train damaged tracks in Fridley.
But fixing the line took longer than expected, and the tracks weren't ready for Northstar.
Transit officials said that there won't be service along the line for the Twins game tonight, either by bus or rail. The Fridley station was also closed for all morning and afternoon traffic.
It isn't clear when rail service will be resumed along the line.
