St. Paul, Minn. — 100 years ago today Minneapolitans watched a floating parade to celebrate the creation of the Minneapolis park system with the linking of Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with St. John's historian Annete Atkins about how this channel came to be, and what Minneapolis was like at the time of its creation.
