Artist presents 'Scattered Lights' at the Northern Spark arts festivalby Euan Kerr, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — Northern Spark is a 'nuit blanche', or white night festival, running from dusk till dawn. It will feature hundreds of artists: performers, sculptors, and a host of others all with work designed to be seen at night.
At Upper Landing Park, just by the river in downtown, St. Paul artist Jim Campbell has strung up hundreds of glass globes that chatter gently in the wind. The piece is called "Scattered Light."
The piece, which is sponsored by the Minnesota Museum of American Art, will remain on display through late July.
The new all-night arts festival launches in the Twin Cities at 8:50 p.m. Saturday.
