St. Paul, Minn. — Can a banjo double as a canoe paddle?

The Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing are about to find out. The duo performs family music as The Okee Dokee Brothers and are setting out on a 30-day expedition down the mighty Mississippi to write and sing songs, as well as record a documentary DVD about the river, the people and fulfilling a childhood dream of theirs.

The Okee Dokee Brothers were in the Radio Heartland studio the day before embarking on their journey.
