St. Paul, Minn. — State legislators have a busy schedule of committee meetings and floor sessions this week as they take up a long list of policy bills. And with just three weeks left in the 2011 session there's still no sign of an agreement to erase the state's $5 billion budget deficit.

DFL Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican House and Senate leaders remain far apart on taxes and spending. They're also still at odds over the process, and how the numbers add up in order to reach a deal. MPR's Phi Picardi spoke with reporter Tim Pugmire about this and other happenings this week at the State Capitol.
