St. Paul, Minn. — Demand for workers in Minnesota rose moderately this month according to an index that tracks online want ads.

The Conference Board's Help Wanted Online index found Minnesota employers posted an additional 1,200 job listings from February to March. That brings the total to 98,200.

That 1 percent increase trails the 5 percent increase nationwide, but Minnesota is outperforming the U.S. in a separate measure. There are about 2 unemployed people in Minnesota for each online want ad, versus 3.2 for the nation as a whole.
