Gov. Dayton wants to have competitive bidding for health plans for the state

Earlier this week, Republicans put out their proposals to cut spending on health care to the tune of 1.6 to 1.8 billion dollars. That's a much deeper cut than Dayton wants.

Lucinda Jesson oversees those programs as Governor Dayton's Department of Human Services commissioner. She spoke with MPR's Cathy Wurzer about Dayton's plans for a competitive bidding process for HMO's that cover nearly 500,000 of the state's poorest residents.
