Number of job postings crawls up slightly in Minn.by Annie Baxter, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — Demand for workers in Minnesota inched up last month.
The number of online ads for jobs in the state rose by about 2,400 to a total of 97,000 in February, according to the Conference Board, a New York-based research firm.
In contrast, advertised vacancies dropped nationally last month.
The Conference Board says Minnesota had about 2.48 unemployed workers for every online job vacancy last month. That rate was better than the national average, which showed 3.24 jobless workers for every online vacancy.
The Conference Board says while national labor demand fell last month, first-time advertised vacancies rose, which indicates employers are continuing to look for workers.
