A group of Wisconsin Democratic lawmakers blocked passage Thursday of a sweeping anti-union bill by apparently leaving the state and ignoring orders to attend a vote.

Meanwhile, an organized protest by state employee groups members throughout the state continues to grow.

Jason Stein, a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, has been covering the ongoing protests in Madison and joined MPR's Tom Crann on All Things Considered.
