St. Paul district fills school board vacancy

St. Paul, Minn. — The St. Paul School Board has picked a parent of two district students to an open seat on the board. Jeff Risberg was one of ten finalists and 41 original applicants for the year-long post.

He'll fill the seat left vacant when board member Vallay Varro stepped down last year to head an education non-profit.

Risberg works for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. He also sits on the parent advisory council at Central High School.
