Regional Spotlight: Tantalus Quartet
January 13, 2011
St. Paul, Minn. —
The story is sad: how a failed love affair leads to a suicide, a drowning. The poignancy of the tale takes on added significance as the melody upon which the story is cast is one of the most beautiful in the world. Guitar super-star Roland Dyens arranged "Alfonsina and the Sea" for guitar quartet. The Tantalus Quartet gives the piece one a most beautiful performance. From this past September, as part of the Music by the Lake Series in Waconia MN, the Tantalus Quartet is in this week's Regional Spotlight.
