NFL commissioner meets with Gov.-elect Daytonby Brandt Williams, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell described his meeting Monday with Governor Elect Mark Dayton as productive.
Goodell came to town to discuss the future of a new stadium for the Vikings. He didn't offer any concrete plans. But Goodell said he will continue to work with the team and state business and political leaders to find a way to keep the Vikings in Minnesota.
Goodell said he also got a chance to see the damage done to the Metrodome.
"It's really quite startling to see," he said. "Thank goodness it didn't happen while an event was going on in the stadium. And certainly thank goodness nobody was injured."
Goodell also said he doesn't know yet if TCF Bank Stadium will be an interim venue for the Vikings, if they move out of the dome while a new stadium is built for them.
