Local food movement searches for better system
by Dave Peters, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — Signs of a growing local food movement are everywhere. You can see them, at Saturday farmers markets and on restaurant menus. Local apples are now served at school cafeterias. There are community gardens in city neighborhoods and small towns.
So, some people are now saying the local food movement needs become a more sophisticated system, to step it up a notch. Dave Peters, who directs MPR News' Ground Level project, talked with All Thigns Considered about what that means.
