U of M president's job down to final four candidatesby Tim Post, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — A committee has sent the names of four semi-finalists for the top job at the University of Minnesota to the board of regents.
The four haven't been named publicly. University officials say state law allows them to keep them secret until they name finalists.
Board chair Clyde Allen says regents are reviewing the candidates' job qualifications now.
"It's a good variety and all strong, strong candidates," Allen said. "I think the advisory committee has really come up with a good list for us to look at. We will continue to pour through the files here for a little bit here and prepare ourselves to pick some finalists."
Allen said the board of regents may publicly name final candidates for the presidential job during the regents' meeting late next week. Allen said it's possible only one final candidate will be named.
