Crosstown project finishes early in Minneapolis
The state Department of Transportation has given Twin Cities-area drivers a Halloween treat by re-opening the Interstate 35W-Crosstown interchange early.
KSTP-TV reports the southbound lands reopened Saturday night. The remaining ramps and westbound Highway 62 reopened at 7 a.m. Sunday.
The ramps and lanes were not expected to reopen until 5 a.m. Monday, but crews finished up early.
This was the final major weekend closure of the Crosstown construction project.

The project cost $288 million and took 3½ years to complete. In all, there were 26 new bridges and 50 miles of new concrete.
The MN-PASS lanes are the only pieces left. They should be finished Nov. 19.
