Regional Spotlight: Choir of Clare College
October 13, 2010
St. Paul, Minn. —
You can have a choir that has impeccable diction, stellar intonation and a round and warm sound, all essential for top-drawer music making.
But there is another element that makes a good choir a superb choir.
Harder to define, it's the quality of love; love of singing, love for an audience and the belief in the power of music.
The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge has all of the above.
Their performance at the University of St Thomas on September 25th included a number of works that just seem to be a part of the ensemble's DNA.
Timothy Brown directed the concert, highlights of which are in this week's Regional Spotlight.
