Bond set for driver in crash that killed 3
Madison, Wis. (AP) — A judge in Dane County has set bond at $30,000 for a Madison man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed three people.
Trembling and crying, 31-year-old Bradley Erickson said nothing in Dane County Circuit Court Monday.
WKOW-TV reports prosecutor Emily Thompson says she will probably charge Erickson with three counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Authorities say Erickson rear-ended the victims' car while they were trying to fix a flat tire on Interstate 39/90 near Madison last week. Nineteen-year-old Marcus Johnson, from Milwaukee, 20-year-old Elysia Rapp, from Racine, and 23-year-old Wilfredo Ugarte, from Puerto Rico, were killed.
Johnson and Ugarte were affiliated with the University of Minnesota's Spirit Squad, a cheerleading squad.
