Tatyana Dikareva gives us a 'Sense of Flight'

St. Paul, Minn. — Tatyana Dikareva emigrated to the Twin Cities in 1997, leaving behind a successful music career in Kiev for a new life.

It didn't take long for her to develop a relationship with the creative pulse of the Twin Cities and in 2000, Ms. Dikareva created a Russian Seasons for Minnesota - a kind of concert portrait of music, dance and art.

She continues with the theme this Sunday at Park Square Theater in Saint Paul by playing her own music from a recently released disc "Sense of Flight." Joining her will be soprano Kathryn Keefer, baritone Russell Wustenberg and tenor Timothy James, with the Land of Lakes Choirboys, as well as Metropolitan Ballet dancer Tatiana Berenova dancing original choreography.

The music reminds one of taking ballet class where even in the most basic class, a live pianist accompanies. It is full of feeling, character and definitely movement. Tatyana Dikareva joined me to share her music and thoughts on the creative process.
