St. Paul, Minn. — Mark Olson has been a staple of the Twin Cities for over 25 years, first as the founder of local legends The Jayhawks, and then as a solo musician, releasing only two albums to date under his own name.

His newest is entitled "Many Colored Kite" and features collaborations with Neal Casal and the brilliant Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and co-singer Ingunn Ringvold, who provides a woman's nurture to Olson's weary yet hopeful lyrics. It's a delicate album describing life on the road and the vivacity of things to come.

Mark stopped by The Current studio to play a few songs and chat with Mary Lucia.

Songs performed: "Bee Hive," "Blue Bell Song" and Morning Dove."
