Couple finishes more than 1,500-mile hike around Lake Superior

Duluth, Minn. — A group of about 75 people welcomed Mike Link and Katie Crowley in Duluth Saturday afternoon, as the couple completed the final stage of a 1,550-mile hike around Lake Superior.
Friends and supporters joined Link and Crowley for the final mile of their trek, walking from Leif Erikson Park to Canal Park.
Of all the things the couple learned in the approximately 150-day hike, Crowley said one thing stood out.
"The lake makes the decisions," she said.
