Scrutinizing Emmer's 45-day budget clock for lawmakersby Cathy Wurzer, Minnesota Public Radio,
Tom Scheck, Minnesota Public Radio
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Minnesota Public Radio News politics reporter Tom Scheck about a plan that Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer talks about in debates.
It's to allow the governor the ability to declare a budget emergency in times of deficit, and start a 45 day clock on the legislature to present its budget. The conversation is part of a new series we've started that puts statements in the governor race in context. It's called "What They're Not Saying."
