As reports came in of another off-shore oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, this week BP began the process of permanently sealing the leak in its undersea well. Even after 206 million gallons of oil flowed into the Gulf from late April to early August, there were claims that the BP oil had "disappeared" into the sea. But scientists question whether it's really gone.
