St. Paul, Minn. — An Eagan man pleaded guilty Wednesday to harboring five Mexican workers who were in the country illegally.
Joo Ok Kim admitted that he hired the men to work at his siding business and housed them in his basement from November 2008 to March 2009. Kim, 62, said he used his truck to drive the men to job sites.
Kim pleaded guilty in federal court in Minneapolis to one count of harboring and concealing aliens.
Authorities discovered the five men on March 28, 2009, when they responded to a disturbance call at Kim's house.
Kim was indicted on March 18. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
