Ludington, Mich. (AP) — Authorities have identified the recently recovered remains of two passengers on a medical plane that crashed into Lake Michigan a week ago.

Mason County Undersheriff Tom Trenner says Friday night the bodies were identified at the county medical examiner's office as Alma school superintendent Don Pavlik and his wife Irene. State police divers found the bodies earlier in the day.

Two people who were on the July 23 flight remain missing. The pilot was rescued that day.

Officials located the plane's wreckage Thursday evening.

The plane plunged into Lake Michigan off the coast of western Michigan while flying cancer patient Don Pavlik to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
