Parachuting for Parkinson's
by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — One man is trying to raise $60,000 and awareness for Parkinson's disease.
He's doing it the hard way -- by parachuting out of a plane today 200 times.
Kevin Burkhart got half way there in 2008, when he jumped 100 times in a day. Now that he's upped the ante, we checked in with him a couple of times earlier at Skydive Twin Cities in Baldwin, Wis. to see how he's doing.
All Things Considered host Tom Crann first caught up to him while his plane was refueling around 12:30 p.m. and asked how many jumps he'd gotten in so far.
