Twin Cities hospitals, nurses agree to talk

Minneapolis (AP) — Twin Cities nurses have called a news conference as a potential strike looms that would affect 14 hospitals.

The nurses say they'll give an update on status of negotiations.

Twelve thousand nurses could walk out in a dispute over pay and staffing levels. The nurses OK'd a strike last week but haven't set a strike date.

Minnesota Nurses Association spokesman John Nemo said this week that the nurses have agreed to return to bargaining and to include a federal mediator, but no date had been set for that either.
