Harrington to run for state Senate

by Mike Mulcahy, Minnesota Public Radio

St. Paul, Minn. — Outgoing St. Paul Police Chief John Harrington is running for the state Senate. Harrington announced last year that he would not seek another term as chief.

Harrington is running as a DFLer for the St. Paul Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Mee Moua. He'll run in the August DFL primary against four other Democrats who've filed for the seat.

Harrington is due to leave the police force at the end of June.
