We've been talking today about the latest Minnesota Public Radio News/Humphrey Institute poll which shows former senator Mark Dayton leading the field of DFL candidates for governor, though 28 percent of DFLers are still undecided.

It also shows the endorsed Republican candidate for governor, Rep. Tom Emmer, in a tight race with all three DFLers at this point in time.

Respondents to the survey break down evenly by party -- 42 percent identified themselves as Democrats and 42 percent identified themselves as Republicans.

Independence party nominee for Governor Tom Horner would receive around 10 percent of the vote if the election was held today.

Tom Emmer joined All Things Considered on the phone for some reaction to this early snapshot of the race for governor.
