Things to expect at this year's fishing opener

St. Paul, Minn. — The fishing opener begins on Saturday, and Gov. Pawlenty is already in northern Minnesota to start the annual

He is at Lake Kabetogama, one of the four major lakes that make up Voyageurs National Park, where hundreds of anglers will cast their lines with the Governor tomorrow.

To find out how the fishing there should be this weekend, Dirk Peterson talked with Tom Crann. Peterson is the Fisheries Management Chief with the Department of Natural Resources. He talked with Crann by phone from Voyageurs National Park.
