Judge denies Met Council's motion to dismiss MPR lawsuit
A Ramsey County judge has denied an attempt by the Met Council to dismiss a lawsuit over the Central Corridor light rail line.
The ruling means Minnesota Public Radio's legal action can continue.
MPR's lawsuit contends the Met Council is reneging on a agreement in which the transit agency agreed to certain measures to reduce noise and vibrations from trains. MPR worries those disruptions will interfere with recordings and broadcasts. Central Corridor trains will run 12 feet in front of MPR's downtown St. Paul studios.
The Met Council disagrees with MPR, saying the noise solution it came up does meet last year's agreement.
It's one of three pending lawsuits against Central Corridor, which will link Minneapolis and St. Paul.
