St. Paul, Minn. — Jeremy Messersmith's first album, "The Alcatraz Kid," earned him the title of the premier under-30 songwriter in the Twin Cities thanks to City Pages. He went on to release a sophomore album, "The Silver City," that was produced by Grammy winner Dan Wilson of Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare and voted the second-best Twin Cities album of 2008.

His latest offering is "The Reluctant Graveyard," out May 4th, a concept album about death and dying that sees Messersmith further honing his clever songwriting and indie-rock & pop chops. He stopped by the Current studio for a live performance.

Songs performed: "Violet", "John The Determinist" and "Organ Donor."
