Alcohol was a factor in La Crosse river death
La Crosse, Wis. (AP) — Final autopsy results show alcohol intoxication contributed to the death of a La Crosse college student whose body was found in the Mississippi River.
The La Crosse County medical examiner's report says Craig Meyers, 21, had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 - more than twice the legal limit of intoxication.
Physicians say the blood test is a more accurate determination of intoxication than a urine test, which put Meyers' alcohol concentration at 0.28.
The autopsy report says there was no signs of trauma to Meyers' body, which was pulled from the river Feb. 16, two days after he disappeared.
Yhe former state champion wrestler was a student at Western Technical College.
