By every indication, the number of wolves in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan is likely to be going up again.

Beyond a few months in 2007, the region's wolves have been under Federal protection since 1974, and the animals are prospering - much to the chagrin of cattle farmers, deer hunters and some pet owners.
