Retribution Gospel Choir performs live in The Current studios

St. Paul, Minn. — After two decades of success in Low and a fantastic debut album from side-project Retribution Gospel Choir, Alan Sparhawk has returned with RGC's second LP, appropriately titled "2," out on Sub Pop Records. Along with Steve Garrington and Eric Pollard, Sparhawk has taken RGC on a more rambling tangent akin to the golden days of Neil Young and Crazy Horse. This album takes its predecessor's strengths and builds on them, resulting in a mix of Sparhawk's personal lyrics and the new band's edgier, harder sound.
