Minneapolis — The first Muslim elected to Congress is meeting Monday with leaders of faiths including Christianity, Judaism, Islam and other traditions.

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, a Democrat from Minneapolis, is convening the gathering to talk about common interests among spiritual communities.

Ellison's office says the gathering will also include leaders from Native American faiths, Bahai, Hindu, Buddhist and atheist communities.

The meeting is at a University of Minnesota facility in north Minneapolis.
