Helping Haitians with day-to-day needs
by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public RadioStories from Haiti have been flooding the airwaves ever since the earthquake struck two weeks ago. It's not unusual to watch the painful stories of loss and want and be moved to want to do something to help.
It is unusual, however, to set up a Web site that actually collects things that will meet day-to-day needs of the earthquake survivors. Minneapolis businessman Ashish Gadnis did that, he started Million for Haiti, and collected 32 tons of items to help the Haitian people.
But what he is doing with those items he collected might be the most interesting part of the story. He joined Tom Crann to talk about his Web site.
