Seward Market plans to reopen Wednesday

Minneapolis — Owners of the Minneapolis corner market where three men were shot to death last week said they plan reopen the store on Wednesday.

Abdi Mohammed, a spokesman for the family that owns Seward Market and Halal Meat, said a crew cleaned the store and replaced some of the flooring.

"Given the nature of the crime and how hard it's been, the only way we can move forward is to try and continue with our lives, so that the criminals will not win," Mohammed said. "And we think reopening the store is part of that healing process."

The market at 25th and Franklin Avenues was closed last Wednesday night, after a reported robbery ended with three men dead.

Two teenagers have been arrested for the slayings and are expected to be charged on Wednesday.
