Twins get the keys to Target Field
The Minnesota Twins officially began operating out of Target Field in downtown Minneapolis on Monday.
Mortenson Construction handed over the keys to the new stadium in a ceremony at the Twins clubhouse.
Team spokesman Chris Iles said construction on the stadium was finished about two months ahead of schedule. The team has been operating out of Target Field for the last few weeks but this week's handover makes the switch official.
Iles said the stadium looks great.

"They've done a great job paying attention to all the little details so I think fans, when they get into Target Field, are going to see the attention to detail," Iles said. "It's going to blow people's minds."
But fans will have to wait for warmer weather to get their first look at Target Field. Most of it remains closed down, said Twins spokesman Kevin Smith.
"Because it's an outdoor facility, we close it up and shut the pipes off just like you would shut your cabin down at the end of the summer," Smith said. "We won't really have any tours going through there until the season starts, probably."
Work on Target Field is mostly done, but Smith said construction crews will still be working in the lower levels of the building near left field. And work on the public plaza outside the ballpark won't be done until spring, he said.
The Twins home opener is scheduled for April 12.
