St. Paul, Minn. — Local hip hop collective, as well as record label, Doomtree have been combining beats and MCs for the last five years. Beginning with their False Hope EPs, which they burned themselves, they've released 15 False Hope discs. In addition to the collaborative EPs, several members including P.O.S., Dessa, Sims, and Cecil Otter have released solo albums.

They've also started an annual tradition - The Doomtree Blowout, and this year marks their fifth year of doing the show at First Avenue. Listen to their in-studio as the interview tables are turned, and they grill Mark Wheat before Doomtree Blowout V.

Songs performed: "The Wren" (Dessa and Sims), "Demon Girl" (Cecil Otter), and "Like You Mean It" (Sims).
